 Day of Service" and a chance for our congregation to make a difference in
  the lives of hungry and malnourished children in the world.  First Grapev
 ine has joined " Kids Against Hunger " to package nutritious meals to be s
 hipped to areas in the world where they are most needed.  \nWe invite you
  to give toward this project and/or volunteer! This year\, due to low fund
 s\, KAH will only supply the amount of food based on the donations receive
 d. The cost is $0.30 per meal\, and we typically pack about 40\,000 meals\
 , which is $12\,000. We still need $8\,400 to reach our goal. \n  \n \n Wh
 at We'll Be Doing... \nWe will package meals that are composed of rice\, f
 ortified soy containing 52% protein and nine vitamins\, six types of dehyd
 rated vegetables\, and a chicken-flavored vitamin powder that contains ano
 ther 21 vitamins and minerals. They will be sealed in plastic bags and the
 n boxed\, ready to go. The meals\, once they reach their destination are p
 repared easily by cooking the bag contents in boiling water for 20 minutes
 . Individuals only need to eat one cup of rice casserole daily to acquire
  all the essential requirements for development and growth. Each package c
 ontains six servings.  Pallets of food will be delivered to our church\, a
 nd we'll put them together into packages to be shipped around the world. W
 e'll need about 80 volunteers per shift (from 8 AM to 1 PM) to serve at st
 ations with assigned tasks (like measuring a portion of soy\, rice\, seaso
 ning\, nutrients\, etc. into a plastic bag\, sealing\, etc.). Each bag con
 tains six meals (all dry)\, grouped\, packed into a box\, and sealed for d
 elivery. Children and youth are welcome to serve as well. If you'd like to
