After a third straight year of shattering community giving day records, North Texas Giving Day returns for its seventh year on September 17, 2015 with more than 2,000 nonprofits, $2.2 million in bonus funds and prizes, and new twists on Donation Station events.

Tarrant County Giving Day Nonprofit, Mission Central, characterized the impact North Texas Giving Day can have on local organizations. "North Texas Giving Day is critical to our mission of empowering people in need to improve their own quality of life," said Paula Jernigan, Executive Director of Mission Central. "Last year, we raised more than $23,000 which helped us provide groceries to our hungry neighbors, after-school tutoring to children at local schools who need extra help with their homework, and support families who are working to move from homelessness to self-sufficiency."

Donations $25 - $50,000 made 6 a.m. to midnight on Giving Day to nonprofits listed on www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org will be amplified by $2.2 million in bonus funds and prizes. A full list of prizes can be found at www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org under “Rules/Prizes.”

“North Texas Giving Day is a day of celebration here in North Texas. Certainly it is for the nonprofits, some of whose years are made in a single day from the generosity of tens of thousands of donors,” said Brent Christopher, president and CEO, Communities Foundation of Texas and North Texas Giving Day founder. “And the cheer and goodwill extend to the community, too. From friends donating over coffee or at concerts to strangers donating while in line at donation station food trucks, everyone gets swept up in this tremendous drive to give back. We can’t wait to see what unfolds this year.”

Other participating Tarrant County nonprofits include Angel Unaware, Community Food Bank, NatureReach, Teen Lifeline, Inc., and CASA of Tarrant County.
