CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG Magical Car Comes to Town

STARS Theater Company will present CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, June 19-21 and 26-28 at Tarrant County College Northeast Campus in Hurst.  CHITTY will be the 21st annual summer musical presented by the local theater group. 

STARS’ production of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG stars several local young people.   Heading up the cast in the role of Caracatus Potts is Saginaw resident Taylor Johnson and in the role of Truly Scrumptions is Kendall Cannon of Grapevine.  The nutty Grandpa Potts is played by Jack Callahan of Southlake.  The children, Jeremy and Jemima, are played by Southlake residents Joel Smith and Emma Mann.   Kirk Zanetti of Plano will play the evil Baron and his Baroness is played by Megan Elizabeth Sickels of Euless.

Based on the children's book by James Bond author Ian Fleming, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG tells the story of the loveable, eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts as he sets out to restore an old race car from a scrap heap with the help of his children Jeremy and Jemima. They soon discover the car has magical powers including the ability to float and take flight. Trouble ensues when the evil Baron Bomburst desires the magic car for himself. The family joins forces with Truly Scrumptious and batty Grandpa.  An evil childcatcher, caring toymaker, and a gang of determined children join the chaos to complete the family outwits the evil Baron.   Sing along to the upbeat score including Roses of Success, Me Ol' Bamboo, and the theme song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.  A delightful adventure for children of all ages.
