GRAPEVINE, TX (September 29, 2022) — First Grapevine, A United Methodist Church, will be hosting a family-friendly Community Christmas Village event on Sunday, December 11, from 4-6 PM, at 422 Church St., Grapevine, TX.

Free and open to the public, the First Grapevine Christmas Village will feature photos with Santa, outdoor photo opportunities, face painters, a Christmas train, snow sledding, Christmas-themed treats, hot cocoa, and snow cones.

The Christmas train will be able to transport 16 people at a time for a ride from the First Grapevine water fountain to the portables and return to the water fountain. The snow sled will be made from 10,000 pounds of ice to create a snowy hill for children to slide down. The snowy hill will be set up at the top of the church’s hill on the south side of the Sanctuary. Hay and straw bales as barriers will ensure a safe sledding experience.

“First Grapevine has always had a heart for reaching out to the local community, and we’re excited about our upcoming Christmas offerings. Our event on December 11 will make for a very special Christmas celebration, perfect for families and kids of all ages,” said First Grapevine’s worship director, Jason Chavarria.

Families will have an opportunity to enjoy many festive activities at The Christmas Village event, which will lead to the Community Candlelighting concert at 6 PM in the Sanctuary for individuals and families who will stay for the concert. During the concert, attendees will receive greetings from Santa, listen to familiar Christmas songs, and light Christmas candles.
