The Dallas-area's newest Trader Joe's opened on Lower Greenville Ave. in early August.

Southlake Town Square will be getting its own Trader Joe's store as soon as October 2014, the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reported Wednesday.

Dustin Dangli with the Ft. Worth newspaper wrote Wednesday that Southlake Town Square developer Frank Bliss presented preliminary plans for the forthcoming, popular West Coast-based retailer at the most recent Southlake Program for the Involvement of Neighborhoods (SPIN) meeting.

Barring opposing action from the city's Planning and Zoning Commission or the city council, Southlake residents could see a groundbreaking on the Trader Joe's site as soon as January.

Trader Joe's, which prides itself on handpicking all of its products for sale and rarely offering name brands, will sit at the northwest corner of Southlake Boulevard and Central Avenue and occupy approximately 13,500 square feet of the Town Square, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The chain has been fond of the Dallas-Fort Worth market lately, having just opened a store on Dallas' Lower Greenville last month and pursuing two other locations in the city of Dallas.
