Hand-blown glass pumpkins from Vetro.

Vetro Glassblowing Studio and Gallery, located in historic downtown Grapevine, is getting “fired up” for fall with its hand-blown glass pumpkin workshops. These unique, one-of-a-kind pumpkins have become a Halloween tradition and fun for the entire family. Join Vetro in its new and improved studio, including a new electric furnace, to create your own glass-blown pumpkin in October:

  • Saturday, October 4 – 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Friday, October 10 – 2:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Saturday, October 11 – 10:00am to 6:00pm
  • Friday, October 17 – 2:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Saturday, October 18 – 10:00am to 6:00pm

These exciting workshops allow participants to experience firsthand the ancient art of glass-blowing. Each participant may select colors from three pre-selected mixes and apply the colors to the hot molten glass gather. The colors are heated in the 2,000 degree furnace (ages 14 and older) and participants assist the artist while the glass pumpkin is blown out. Due to the annealing process, pumpkins will be available for pick-up the next business day after 3:00pm (pumpkins made on Saturday will be available for pick-up the following Tuesday).

The cost is $55 plus tax for each hand-blown glass pumpkin. Reservations are required for each workshop and may be made online. For more information about the hand-blown glass pumpkins, please visit www.vetroartglass.com or call 817-251-1668. Vetro is located at 701 S. Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051.
