12 Days of Elf Takeover: Day 10 — Homemade Cookies Would Be Nice

I am getting a little stir-crazy in the office alone this weekend, and all I can think about are cookies! I just powered down some stale Oreos, but I wanted to share my favorite North Pole cookie recipe, which makes cookies that are perfect for decorating.

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 ½ cups flour

Cream together butter, cream cheese and sugar, then add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Mix the flour and salt into the wet ingredients.

Roll out dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Use your favorite cookie cutters.

Brush with egg whites, then sprinkle with colored sugar before baking OR frost cookies after they have cooled.

Bake at 375 for 10 minutes. Enjoy!

Now I've gotta go eat up these cookies before the office peeps get back! To learn how to make other homemade things, visit BubbleLife's Recipe Box, and feel free to submit your own recipes to BubbleLife.
